Concert

In 1998 the ESNCM launched the concert series, in which two concert seasons are organized annually. The Spring Concert Season and the Fall Concert Season both comprise of about 20 – 30 concerts each attracting annually about 4000 – 5000 persons, and are held on a weekly or biweekly basis mainly in the cities of Jerusalem, Ramallah and Bethlehem, Nablus also in other Palestinian cities, in the Galilee and The Occupied Golan Heights. The concerts are organized by the ESNCM in cooperation with other cultural organizations, or solely by the ESNCM; they are sponsored by a number of local business or diplomatic missions in the Palestinian Territories. The concerts run from March until June, and from October until December of every year.

These concerts have changed dramatically the music scene in the central part of Palestine. For the first time in Palestine a regular and consistent concert program of professional quality is organized. Through this activity, the Palestinian public has access to a wide range of music styles, from Arabic classical to Western classical, from Jazz music to World music. Musicians taking part in these concerts range from local musicians and ESNCM teachers and ensembles, to international musicians with world-wide reputation. Prominent musicians including Simon Shahin, Suleiman Ergunere, Wissam Boustany, Salim Abboud, Miguel Estrella, Alexander Suleiman and Daniel Barenboim, gave performances in the ESNCM concert seasons.
