Becoming a student

Who Can Apply?

One can become a student of the ESNCM from the age of 5. Between the ages of 5 and 7 students will be registered on the Bustan al-Musiqa (Kindergarten) program, for which there is no prerequisite, and places are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. From the age of 7 applicants may apply to learn an instrument and register for either the regular or amateur programs. There is no upper age limit for students, but the ESNCM gives priority to school-age children in the application process. There is no prerequisite for acceptance to the ESNCM, although for those aged 7 and over who have not gone through the Busan al-Musiqa program, a simple entrance test is performed to assess the natural aptitude of an applicant. In some cases applicants might not be accepted for their first choice instrument but might still receive a place in another, due to limited places or compatibility of age or size. If limited places are available, ESNCM also gives priority to those applying for the regular program.

How to Apply

An application form should be filled carefully and completely at any branch of the ESNCM. The administrative assistant at every branch is always ready to clarify any information needed for the aplication form.
The academic year starts in September, and applications for new students are accepted from April 15. If there are openings, midyear registration is also offered in January and a small number of students are accepted for study beginning in February.

A non-refundable application fee of 100 NIS is required upon submission of application.
