2016 sees the first edition of the Oud Festival, after the enforced cancellation of the inaugural 2015 festival. The festival is dedicated to performances, workshops, lectures and films related to the oud, its musicians and the most important figures associated with the development of the music of the oud and the instrument itself. The festival enriches the musical scene in Palestine and specifically in the city of Nablus, and promotes musicians and bands, whether through musical performances by Palestinian musicians and bands or by hosting international musicians who share their experiences with local musicians.
