Applications open for PYO tour 2017

The ESNCM is delighted to announce that following the successful tour of the UK in summer 2016, the Palestine Youth Orchestra will be bringing its musical talent home with a tour of Palestine and Jordan this summer. The residential workshop will take place in Jerash, Jordan. The orchestra will then perform in Amman followed by concerts in Palestine (locations TBC). An additional concert at the Dubai Opera is tentatively planned for early 2018 as part of the same season.

Applications for the Palestine Youth Orchestra are open to all Palestinian musicians and musicians of Palestinian origin aged from 14 - 26 years. We are happy to receive applications from other Arab countries and from elsewhere in the world. Students should normally have reached ESNCM/ABRSM Grade 7 level or equivalent to apply for the orchestra. The ESNCM will facilitate applications for any members holding a passport that requires a permit to enter Palestine. The registration fee this year is $200. If you know that you will have problems covering the fee, please start looking into scholarship assistance to cover this. If you are travelling from outside Palestine, and are able to raise funds or find scholarship assistance towards the cost of your travel to attend the course, this would also be greatly appreciated.

All new applicants and musicians who have not played in the orchestra recently as well as all wind and brass players, will be expected to audition. You may also be asked to audition if we would like to know more about your current level for purposes of allocating parts and seating in the orchestra.
