One of the leading ensembles from the ESNCM Jerusalem Branch, Banat al-Quds, performed in a special concert in cooperation with El-Hakawati, the Palestinian National Theater on 13th March 2015. The concert was the first event organized jointly by the ESNCM and El-Hakawati as part of a new strategic cooperation which envisions the rejuvenation of the cultural scene in Jerusalem and stronger ties between cultural organizations in the city. Consisting of 27 female students, Banat al-Quds is a choir and Arabic ensemble which was formed in 2013 and is coached by ESNCM General Director Suhail Khoury and oud teacher Louiy Abbasi. The concert included songs by the Rahbani Brothers, Sheikh Imam, Mohammad Abdel Wahhab, Hussein Nazek, Sayyed Darwish, and a new composition written by Suhail Khoury for Banat al-Quds, Li Ghazzeh Salam. Banat al-Quds will hold their next performance as part of the Layali al-Tarab Festival.
