Concerto Competition
The concerto competition has become an annual tradition at the ESNCM, where advanced ESNCM students compete for the opportunity to perform a concerto or a concerto movement with the ESNCM orchestra. After a first round of video entries, ten students were chosen to play in a public live final round on 7th December. The 4-member jury and the audience at the ESNCM hall in Ramallah enjoyed concerto performances on trombone, piano, flute, oud, violin and clarinet, and announced four winners. They were:
Ram Rabi, a 13 year-old violin student in the Ramallah branch. He played Bach’s Double Concerto.
Maya Atari, a 16 year-old violinist from Ramallah, who played the violin concerto in A Major by Accolay.
Zaina Salhi, a 14 year-old flute student at the Ramallah branch. Zaina played the Andante in C Major by Mozart.
Marc Kawwas, a 12 year-old piano student at the Tchaikovsky Music School. He performed the second movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 20 in D minor.
Congratulations to the winners and to all the wonderful young musicians who took part in the competition.
