On 14^th December the Italian Jazz Duo Francesco Venerucci (piano) and Jan Rzewski (saxophone) visited Ramallah for an improvisation workshop and concert, in cooperation with the Italian Consulate. Nine intermediate to advanced level students from Ramallah branch participated in the workshop, playing flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano, guitar, violin and qanoun. The visiting teachers gave the students a rhythmic pattern to improvise on, and guided them towards the creation of a structured improvised piece by the end of the session. After the workshop the duo performed a concert, where the students were joined by an audience of 75 people in the Sharjah Hall in the branch.
