Pianist Frederick Moyer in Palestine
The ESNCM was delighted to cooperate with al-Kamandjati Association in welcoming the celebrated pianist Frederick Moyer to Palestine, where he performed a concert tour of several cities. Well-established across the classical and jazz worlds, Moyer has captivated audiences around the globe for over thirty years with his phenomenal musicality and versatility. He has appeared with orchestras on six continents, including the major orchestras of Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. Palestine was a must-do for Frederick Moyer, who has relatives in Beit Sahour.
Moyer’s concerts organized by the ESNCM were on 3 December 2019 in the Tchaikovsky Music School, 5 December in the Nablus branch hall and 6 December in the Jerusalem Branch hall. He delighted audiences in the three cities with a program which included classical, jazz and oriental music. The Waldstein Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven was followed by Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, and music by Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum and Göksel Baktagir.
