Henna Album Tops World Music Chart

 Other important releases by the Conservatory during this period include the album Henna that topped the list of the Transglobal World Music Chart (TWMC) as the best album for the month of August 2021, ranking first among dozens of albums in the world music category. The monthly list is selected by vote by a large group of international music critics, specialists, and connoisseurs who determine the best albums among the latest music releases based on their quality. This list aims mainly to disseminate and popularize world music and to highlight objectively and without bias productions that deserve merit and display talent.
Henna is a Palestinian album sung by artists from a number of Palestinian towns and cities, including Hanin Alijla from Gaza, Nour Fretiekh from Nablus, Henna Haj Hassan from Jenin, Miral Ayyad from Abu Dis, Ehsan Saadeh from Al-Jib, Samira Kharoubi from Jerusalem, and the Banat Al-Quds ensemble from Jerusalem. It features eight Palestinian songs that express hope and reflect steadfastness and resistance as well as a celebration of life.
