The first branch to open in 1993, the Ramallah Conservatory has played an important role in the cultural life of the twin cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh and in Palestine as a whole. It was originally situated on the top floor of the three-story building of the Birzeit University Board of Trustees.  In 2014 the Ramallah Branch moved to its purpose-built premises, on a piece of land donated by the Municipality of Ramallah.
